Myth #1: Only Older Individuals Develop Cataracts
Although cataracts often develop during your older years, other forms may occur at any age. Congenital cataracts, in particular, are often present at birth. A penetrating or blunt trauma to your eyes, on the other hand, may lead to traumatic cataracts. Meanwhile, secondary cataracts may form as a complication of a surgery.
Myth #2: Cataracts May Be Dissolved by Applying Eye Drops
Right now, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not yet recognized or approved any medicated eye drops as a treatment for cataracts.
