The new ACUVUE® OASYS with Transitions™ Light Intelligent Technology™ lenses are the first contact lenses to effortlessly adapt to light changes. They provide contact wearers comfort and clear vision. The revolutionary lens is named as one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2018.
Your local eye care provider, Guilford Eye Center, is one of the first practices to offer this product, and, in this post, we’re discussing its key features.
ACUVUE OASYS® With Transitions™
ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions balances the amount of indoor and outdoor light that enters the eye. The lenses protect your eyes from blue light and harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays.
This technology reduces the stress your eyes receive from light exposure. Aside from that, it lessens the occurrence of haloes and starbursts at night, providing sharp and clear sight.
The lenses go dark once exposed to UV or high-energy visible (HV) light. This means that the lenses tend to become darker and fade back to clear once you’re indoors. The activation level varies in response to light. For the right prescription and properly fitting lenses, visit your local eye care center.
Common Concerns
ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions is not a replacement for sunglasses, but you can wear them with non-prescription sunglasses. Though it can protect the area it covers, the surrounding areas of the eye are still vulnerable to harmful light rays. Wear sunglasses to completely protect your eyes.
The lenses adapt to various lighting conditions so it’s activated in both indoor and UV light. Not because the lens appear clear, doesn’t mean they’re not working.
